Digital Music Designer

The Digital Music Designer (or DMD) is a musician specialized in the conception, realization and performance of electronic music (or electronic parts of works).

For a piece from the repertoire, the digital music designer works with the score and the elements provided by the editor for the performance. He sometimes needs to update the softwares and the patches, verify their stability and correct them. He works with the musicians during rehearsals in order to find the good balance between the acoustic and electronics parts.

For a new piece, the digital music designer works very early on in the studio in close collaboration with the composer, not only for the technical aspect of the project, but also for its formal, musical and auditive conception, as well as the construction of electronic tools and instruments.
